Halloween/All Saints

Because of an unusually busy week, I'm conflating these two days.
TICL's past references for Halloween are here.
And Christianity Today Online has several articles of note about the holiday
One of the favorite activities is here and here, but my favorite is the Dalek pumpkin [via].
The Library of Congress also devotes a page to the day.

All Saints is mentioned--and rightly so-- in the same breath as Halloween. However, this would be a great way to introduce Christian biographies of great saints to our students such as Christian History or more current personages as here. Even better, celebrate those who helped found our academic institutions. You could even look here for more books. How ironic that while we wail and gnash our teeth against the improprieties and excesses of Halloween, we overlook those Saints who have given so much dimension and richness to our lives.
