A Season for Hope
Libraries are often linked--however subtly or overtly--to hope.   The Chronicle of Philanthropy has a free article, Building a Nation of Readers,  regarding literacy and the hope reading provides [via].  
We all have a stake in literacy, including technology literacy. 
Oblinger and Hawkins in  March/April 2006 issue of Educause have an article "The Myth about Student Competency: Our Students are Technologically Competent.  
Finally I found The Book of Hope a charity site which provides The Gospels to children around the world for $0.33/book.  I discovered this by through the story of Eddie Ogan whose tale may make you think differently about the term poverty in the light of hope.
