Second Hand Days

This post is in honor of the day after a significant day such as the Solstice or equinox day. I suppose it is comparable to "The Sun Also Rises" mentality. Just because I keep missing an important event, doesn't mean I can't inject some thoughts a little later!

I sent a message to the ACL discussion list asking for any books mentioned during the many and varied conversations. We talked tech, theory, and we talked about books we had read or heard about. I was in library heaven! Here's a start for those of you who missed the conference and anyone else for that matter. Although I can't attend the ALA Conference, I hope books and love of them is a frequent "overheard" snatch, and thus the reason for my title as these are not new books.
As I constructed this list, I tried out the WorldCat Find in a Library link in Google. Why should we promote a bookseller before promoting a library? The only problem is that these are regional; however, think about encouraging your patrons to use this service. Is anyone using it for promotion or instruction? Since,the URL's from this service are l-0-0-0-0-n-g, I tried out a new short URL site DigBig. TinyURL should work as well, but I enjoyed using digbig.
