Milvian Bridge Day
I was going to post this yesterday but the login was slo-o-o-w. (Better than the dog ate my homework?)
October 28 marks a significant day in Church History, especially in the area of Church-State Relations. With all our attention on Halloween, perhaps we should refocus the lens and look at Milvian Bridge As this site notes: "The growing tensions over church/state relations in the USA as well as Muslim/Christian relationships in countries [where] Islam is dominant are scenes of action today that highlight the importance of creating a safe space for conversation regarding the role of religion." In addition, Crosswalk.com has several pertinent articles, here, here, here, and here ,for example.
I looked for more information on Milvian Bridge in our E-reference calendars and found it in the Interfaith Calendar. This site not only contains important holidays and events from the major faiths in the world but also a set of links under Religion News Desk in the left column. Since I couldn't login to Blogger, I spent some time looking at religions news events from around the world at this site. Even Headlinespot.com doesn't cover this many.
For print resources, I looked in several works, but found that Timeline Charts of the Western World by Susan Peterson was helpful in setting the context of this event. Would anyone recommend any other chronologies?
