From the Religion News Blog comes the news that the Supreme Court has refused the appeal from suspended Chief Justice Ray Moore concerning the Ten Commandments. The article includes other church State issues the Supreme Court is hearing this year.

Sights & Sounds

One of my more interesting reference questions this year involved locating a recording of the Islamic Call to Prayer. One of our faculty was giving a presentation and wanted to play the Call as part of it. I finally found some things via Islamic radio stations. But wouldn't you know--when I tried to do this search again in Google, A whole different set of sites appeared because of Ramadan. I found two I would have used had I found them 2 months ago. Learn.co has a section on Religious festivals, although it is aimed at a younger audience. The best, for me, was the Resource page on Islam from Manchester University in the UK. Not only does it have a clear recording but also words with English translations. If I ever find the radio station I recommended to my colleague, I'll post it too.

That was the Sound. Let me know your comments! Now to the Sight

I have to confess I lose all track of time whenever I look at Costume webpages or even books on Costumes. (I don't know where I located these) Costumes.Org has a large section of History sorted by Period and is a great metasite for Biblical costumes, including a timeline of costume history
