From today's Chronicle of Higher Education: "Most Students Care Strongly about Religion or Spirituality, Survey Finds" by Jeffrey R. Young (If you do not have access to an online subscription, this link may not work. Locate a print copy.) Here is a brief quote:
"Seventy percent of students who responded to the survey said they had attended religious services in the past year, and 78 percent said they had discussed religion or spirituality with friends. Seventy-three percent said their religious and spiritual beliefs had helped develop their identity. "
As librarians do we need to consider the spiritual interests of our students when making collection development decisions?
