I have been reading books by Miss Read this summer and have noticed a loose similarity to those by Jan Karon and Phil Gulley (Sorry, no home page for him as yet). These are really gentle reads whose characters grow on one, although the church is only one part of the village life of Thrush Green and Lulling. And while Small Town America isn't quite within the scope of this page, this is a website from the Scout report
